Short or Long Tests?

We recommend that children use the Adaptive Tests which range in duration from 10 to 20 minutes. A detailed explanation of what the Adaptive Tests are can be found here.

However, if you decide to use the Non-adaptive tests instead, then the 11+ level of tests come in both Long and Short versions.

Where there are 4 tests available in each subject for Long tests at each difficulty, there are 20 for the short tests. Each 50 minute Long test is available as five 10 minute Short tests.

The questions for the Long Tests and the Short Tests come from the same database, so we do not recommend that a child has access to both types of test, as they would simply end up repeating questions.

We DO NOT recommend that a child switches from Long tests to Short tests once they have started doing the tests, as this would mean STARTING FROM SCRATCH as the data does not transfer over.
