What are the BOFA Adaptive tests?

Our BOFA Adaptive tests use a fully automated learning algorithm to create a bespoke learning schedule for your child. The tests use the same three stage process (test - practise - retest) that you are familiar and now ensure your child takes time between practises and retests to embed knowledge into their long term memory.

We allocate your child's start level based on their age and their exam date. From there onwards your child will move up or down in difficulty depending on their performance.

Alongside the adaptive tests we have a new medal and awards system. We want to encourage children to do their best, which is why we reward them for their achievements As well as rewards for correct answers we reward timekeeping, improvement and consistent effort. Awards can be viewed at any time from the pupil's awards page.

To assign the adaptive tests to your child edit their profile from your parent account on the manage children page. Enter your child's date or birth and their test date and Save. (The test date must be the date of a year 6 test, it could be the date of their 11+ exam, or the date of an ISEB Pre-Test, or London Consortium test.)

We recommend that children now use the BOFA Adaptive tests however our original non-adaptive tests are still available. If you do not want to use the adaptive tests select option 3 in the Adaptive Test Settings section of the edit child page.
