Planet Bofa Personalised Learning

Tell us who you are

Learning with Planet BOFA is different, simple, and fun.

We personalise every Practice and Retest stage, to mega-boost the areas you need to work on (and skip topics you already know). So you get smarter, faster.

1 A unique learning experience

BOFA is the only learning platform where every question comes in a three. BOFA finds out what you know, then teaches you what you don't, with a little bit of practice. BOFA then checks out whether you've remembered how to do it later on using a slightly different question. BOFA emails your parents and teachers telling them how well you did before, how much effort you've put into learning, and which topics still require help.

2 Our Initial Test works out what you know

When you log on to BOFA, the first thing you will do is take an Initial Test, so that we can get a good understanding of what you're already good at.

3 Helpful guidance and plenty of practice goes a long way

When you've done this, you will see the answers you got wrong in the practice and explanation stage, and will be shown how to answer them correctly. You will then get to try out a similar question, which will teach you how to answer the same sort of question.

4 Showing off your improvements in the retest

About a week later, so that we can check you have remembered everything long-term, you'll have another go at some similar questions in a Retest. This will show us what improvements you have made.

5 A personal report is emailed to you

This report is emailed to you, and is also available to view online. It details the areas that your child struggled with, along with the questions they answered incorrectly, complete with the correct answers and explanations.

6 Letting you parents and teachers know

All of this information is put together in a special Report, which we email to your teacher or parent (maybe even both!).

7 Always learning something new

BOFA makes sure that you are learning the topics that you can't already do, rather than the ones that you already know. This means that logging on to BOFA is always fun, and you can always expect to learn something new!

Someday, everyone will learn the BOFA way!

Questions?

  • How long are the tests?
Fifty or 20 minutes. Just press the ‘Pause’ button if you need to take a break.
  • What happens if it takes me longer than the test time to complete the questions?
No problem. We’ll mark all of your answers whether they’re within the time limit or not. You can click to hide the clock if it’s taking you a bit longer to finish.
  • How much extra studying will I need to do?
You’ll start with four tests – English, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. This will take anything from three hours (if you get them all right) to eight or more hours (building in time for learning around the questions you got wrong, and retesting). We usually say about 12 hours per subject.
  • Why are there different levels of tests on Planet BOFA?
There can be a bit of difference between some of the 11-plus tests that are set. Our different levels of testing and learning make sure you're prepared for whatever comes up. BOFA 11 is where everyone starts. BOFA 11+ is a little harder. And BOFA 11++ contains questions that are tougher to answer. As you progress through the levels your grade percentages may not stay as high. This is normal.

Our KS2 products are set at year group levels:
    • Year 3 - at the old key stage level 3
    • Year 3&4 - at the old level 3&4
    • Year 4&5 - at the old level 4&5
    • Year 5&6 - at the old level 5&6
    • Year 6 - at the old level 6
  • What’s a Quick Test?
These are designed for you if you’ve completed all three levels of BOFA 11-plus tests (across all four subjects), and achieved over 75% in each one. Quick Tests are just a fast and fun way to stretch yourself over six minutes and get a chance to make it onto the Planet BOFA Quick Test Leader Board.
